Why Change to CAP?

Passive Fire Protection
CAP (Critical Area Protection) will provide a 60 minute fire rating on a typical paper-faced gypsum plasterboard substrate. New CAP technology and subsequent test results mean significant savings for property owners in meeting current building passive fire protection regulations. These are especially relevant on alterations and refurbishment work on existing buildings.

Time
• Measure savings in weeks on virtually any project
• Rooms can be fire rated overnight
• No need to vacate premises

Money
• Potential direct cost savings exceed 50% compared to
installation of fire rated linings
• Significant indirect cost savings related to less
inconvenience and productivity

Management
• Easier to manage and co-ordinate trades
• Dries typically in under 3 hours
• Easy to use, no special or exclusive skills required
• Less disruption to tenants, staff and customers
• Product is readily available
• Quality finish typical of 100% acrylic interior coatings
• Apply by spray, roller or brush
• Certification of finished project for compliance purposes

EnviroNMent
• Using existing substrate means less waste
• Less energy consumed with CAP versus removal and
replacement of existing substrates
• Low VOC’s
• Low odour
• Quieter and cleaner than existing processes
• Usable in occupied space
